Down The TBR Hole #11

Current TBR shelf: 3950

Last week's TBR shelf: 3953

The rules

  1. Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  2. Order on ascending date added.
  3. Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  4. Read the synopses of the books
  5. Decide: keep it or should it go?

Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson

I've only read Wintergirls by this author (which was a great book) and I am interested in picking up more of her books but I don't think this would be the one I'd choose next as the synopsis doesn't massively interest me.

Verdict: Remove

Impossible by Nancy Werlin

The premise interested me at first, I like the idea of the MC trying to break an ancient curse, but looking more into it has me doubting myself. There are a lot of mixed reviews and a couple of people who's opinions I trust didn't like it. If I'm having doubts it's probably best to remove this one.

Verdict: Remove

Sweethearts by Sara Zarr

Although this sounds rather generic, Sara Zarr is a fairly popular YA contemporary author and I do want to check out her work. So although this may not be for everyone, I do like myself a childhood best friend's to lovers story.

Verdict: Keep

The Disreputable History of Frankie Landau-Banks by E. Lockheart

I've read two E. Lockheart books and I enjoyed both of them, I do really like her writing. Plus, I already own this book so it's an easy keep.

Verdict: Keep

How to Hook a Hottie by Tina Ferraro

This could be fun but at the same time the main character sounds incredibly shallow and I can see her getting on my nerves. Also, that title makes me cringe!

Verdict: Remove

The ABC's of Kissing Boys by Tina Ferraro

To be honest I'm struggling with how the title and cover of this book are connected to the synopsis. Parker is a soccer player who's trying to make the varsity team but that cover does not reflect that! It could be cute and fluffy but who knows when I'd pick it up.

Verdict: Remove

Top Ten Uses for an Unworn Prom Dress by Tina Ferraro

This is the third Tina Ferraro book on the list this week and it's probably the one I'd be most likely to pick up out of the three. I think it's mostly the prom aspect though as I just really like proms in books and movies!

Verdict: Keep

Oh. My. Gods. by Terra Lynn Childs

I do like books inspired by mythology but I'm worried this might read a bit young for me and overuse on the cliche's. It's a popular series so I might give it a go in the future.

Verdict: Remove

Naomi and Ely's No Kiss List by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

I read Dash & Lily's Book of Dares years ago and enjoyed it but I think i'd rather start with Nick and Norah Infinite Playlist if I'm going to pick up another book by these authors.

Verdict: Remove

Umbrella Summer by Lisa Graff

Contemporary middle grade isn't really for me now that I'm in my twenties so I think I can probably give this one a miss.

Verdict: Remove
