February 2021 TBR
January wasn't my best start to the year, I had a bit of a slumpy start at the beginning of the month but overall I'm happy with what I read. I've lessened the amount of books on my TBR this month by a significant amount as having too many books on there makes me feel super unaccomplished if I don't manage to get to them all. I'm taking part in a readathon this month and that's my main focus as well as getting to some of my old Netgalley ARC's as well.
I'm taking part in the next round of Pixarthon which is focusing on Toy Story and is aptly named Woody's Roundup Readathon hosted by @literarylily1. I'm joining #TeamAlsToyBarn for this and I love how much work has gone into creating this readathon, from creating the teams to how you participate. Each team has to collect a certain group of toys (each toy has a different prompt) and you can also steal toys from other teams by reading a book from someone's elses TBR. It's a lot clearer in the PDF so I'll just link that here!

Some other books i'm hoping to get to this month are:

January 2021 TBR
Happy New Year! I can't believe we're in a new year already. 2020 felt like it went so slow but sped by at the same time. Here's hoping to a better and brighter 2021!
So, I thought my reading in November was bad but it was nothing compared to the trainwreck that was December. I don't know if I was just so burned out from the rest of the year but I haven't finished a book in nearly two weeks and I'm writing this on the last day of December! Everything that I was picking up I just wasn't into and then I just didn't pick up anything for days and days. I only managed to read 6 books and one of those was a novella! Fingers crossed that I can kick off 2021 with a good reading month.
Saying that, considering I didn't manage to read that much last month, I've put 13 books on my January TBR because apparently I hate myself and want myself to suffer from a nervous breakdown! I planned out my TBR at the beginning of December when my reading was actually going well so that's why there's so much on there!
I'm really excited about a lot of these books, particularly Legendborn by Tracy Deonn and The Midnight Library by Matt Haig. The Girl in the Tower was on my TBR last month but I just couldn't get out of my reading slump so I'm going to give it another try this month. I haven't got a non-fiction book this month but I will be reading The Man in the High Castle by Philip K. Dick for my classic pick.

December 2020 TBR + Reindeer Readathon & Mini Polarthon!
Honestly, how is it nearly December already?? 2020 is almost over (thank god) and now is the time when all of us bookish people panic and try and squeeze in as many books as possible in to the remaining weeks. I'm feeling ok with my reading at the minute though, I already hit my Goodreads goal and now I'm just trying to choose some books that'll put me in a wintery mood. I do like seasonal reading as I like feeling cozy and festive and having books that match that feeling. There a few books that I want to try and read before the year is officially up and we enter into 2021 though.
I'm onto the final book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy aka Forever by Maggie Stiefvater which actually isn't the final book because there's a 3.5 called Sinner which I own and will be reading in January but whatever! I'm also continuing with the Winternight trilogy and I'm going to be reading the second book, The Girl in the Tower. At the time I'm writing this, I'm actually in the middle of the first book and really enjoying it so I'm excited for the rest of the series.
My festive reads include 10 Blind Dates by Ashley Eston which just sounds so cute and romantic plus I'm going to be reading The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue this month which I can't wait for!! Finally, I actually forgot to include a non-fiction book for this month in my planned out TBR so I might have to squeeze one in somewhere if I can but I do already have a lot on there. My classic for the month though is going to be A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens and I'm going to try and read this on Christmas Eve plus my edition has beautiful illustrations!
I'm also participating in a few readathons this months of which you can find the details down below.

November 2020 TBR + 1000 Doors Readathon!
It's that time of the month again so I'm here to plan out my November TBR plus mention the readathon I'll be taking part in this month. I had a great reading month in October and I read some great books as well as a ton that really put me in the Halloween/Autumn mood. I've tried to include a few books that still have a darker vibe to them as it is still autumn and I am still leaning towards those types of books.
I'm only taking part in one readathon this month although there were a few that I was interested in. I really wanted to do the next round of Believathon hosted by How To Train Your Gavin on booktube which is a month long middle grade readathon but I just don't own any middle grades physically and I didn't want to have to soley read them through scribd so I'm putting this off until the next round. I was also interested in the next rounds of Musical-A-Thon and the Gilmore Girls Readathon but having had a look at the prompts I couldn't really fit them to match my TBR without adding another 8 books to it which is a real shame. The readathon I will be participating in is the 1000 Doors Readathon which I'll talk a bit more about further down.
I'm also participating in the The Winternight Trilogy Readalong which is also hosted by Meg With Books and you can find the announcement video here and can check out the twitter page here. We're reading the first book The Bear and the Nightingale by Katherine Arden in November and then the second and third books in December and January. I've been looking for an excuse to start this series so I was so happy when I saw that a readalong was happening and immediately knew I had to join in.
I'm continuing on with reading the The Wolves of Mercy Falls series by Maggie Stiefvater and I'm now on to the second book Linger. I didn't love the first book, I gave it three stars, but I own the entire series so I do want to read all of them before probably unhauling. I'm also finally reading Horrid by Katrina Leno after months of talking about it! I'm having to bump Shadowsea by Peter Bunzl over to November as I didn't manage to get to it in October so I'll definitely be prioritising it. My classic for the month is going to be Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen and my non-fiction read is going to be I Am Malala by Malala Yousafzai both of which I'm really excited to get to.

October 2020 TBR + Readathons!
I don't know if I'm being a little too ambitious this month due to the fact that I'm participating in FOUR readathons! This is mostly due to the fact that October is my favourite month of the year, I adore Halloween and I may have got a bit overexcited about it all! Luckily a lot of the books I'm planning on reading this month fit the majority of the prompts across the readathons so I'm going to be doubling up on a lot of them but that will all get explained down below.
My main physical TBR which you can see in the image above is my main priority along with a few Ebooks and an audiobook. Nearly all of these books are for the Spooktober Readathon and that readathon is going to be the main one I'm participating in where as the rest I'll be doing a bit more casually.
I'm so excited to read all of these books this month and I'm hopeful that a few might be five star reads! I've been dying to read My Best Friend's Exorcism by Grady Hendrix all year but I've been good and held off until we reached the spooky season as this book as the exact vibes I want for this time of year. I'm also excited to be reading another Stephen King book and Joyland sounds super creepy with a carnival setting, I'm interested to see what this one has in store.
My classic for the month is going to be The Haunting of Hill House by Shirley Jackson, another one I've wanted to get to for a while. Once I've finished it I'm also going to be watching the Netflix adaptation too which so many people have hyped up. Finally, my non-fiction this month is Trick or Treat by Lisa Morton which is a book that essentially chronicles the history of Halloween and I just thought it would be perfect for this time of year.

September 2020 TBR
So, I'd like to say that I'm back but who knows cause I said this last time and then disappeared for almost an entire year. I had a sudden spurge of inspiration to start posting again in early August but decided to wait until September so I could have a brand new month to start posting in. Life's been crazy over the past few months. Not only are we still in a worldwide pandemic but i'm just now coming out of one of the worst reading slumps I've ever been in. I don't know if it's because of the Covid situation but I've only read a small handful of books between March and July. I think I'm out of the worst of it now though so fingers crossed I don't have any problems for the rest of the year.

July 2019 TBR + The Book Junkie Trials
How is it nearly July already?? We're now nearly 7 months into the year and I just don't know where the time is going, I feel like it was Christmas only a couple of weeks ago. Anyway, a new month means a new TBR. I didn't quite manage to read all of the books on my June TBR, you can find that post here, as I had a bit of a slow reading week near the beginning of the month so I didn't manage to read my classic or my non-fiction book of the month, as well as one of the books from my TBR box and an ebook. I've decided that whatever I don't manage to read from my TBR posts will just get put straight into the next months TBR and will be prioritised.

June 2019 TBR
So this is my pretty ambitious June TBR especially when you consider the fact that ebooks aren't included in the photo above. I didn't expect to check out this many library books but I saw so many YA's on the shelf that I wanted to read and I just couldn't help myself! Let's just pray to the reading gods that I manage to make my way through this pile without having a breakdown! (Also, let's excuse the fact that this photo was taken on my slightly grimy windowsill, I have no idea where else to take my photos. My house is sadly lacking in pretty backdrops!).
Library Books
- Eve of Man by Giovanna and Tom Fletcher
- Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson
- The Life + Death Parade by Eliza Wass
- Genuine Fraud by E. Lockhart
- The Sin Eater's Daughter by Melinda Salisbury
- The Fates Divide by Veronica Roth
- Teenage: The Creation of Youth Culture by Jon Savage
Owned Books
- Sisters Red by Jackson Pierce
- Stolen: A Letter to My Captor by Lucy Christopher
- The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood
Ebooks
- Moonlocket and Skycircus (The Cogheart Adventures #2 & 3) by Peter Bunzl
- 100 Days of Sunlight by Abbie Emmons
- Beau and Bett by Kathryn Berla
I sure do like making life difficult for myself. This is probably going to be the first month where I have a fully structured TBR as usually I read the library books I've checked out and then maybe one or two mood reads from the books I already own. However, I really do need to start reading all the books on my TBR shelf so I've created myself a little (Ha!) TBR box (I didn't have a jar so a box will have to do!) and I'm going to be picking my upcoming reads from that. This month I got Stolen by Lucy Christopher and Sisters Red by Jackson Pierce both of which i've owned for far too long.
My classic for the month will be The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, I think it's about time I got around to reading this especially when you consider the fact that I've already been watching the tv series, oops.
And finally my non-fiction book of the month will be Teenage: The Creation of Youth Culture by Jon Savage, this was a library find and looks so interesting but it is absoutely huuuge so wish me luck!
What are you planning on reading in June? Have you read any on my TBR? Leave a comment or link your own June TBR's for me to check out!
