2018 Goals | Blogging and Personal

I've never been very good at sticking to resolutions. I tend to get very into the idea of making them, I do well for a few days and then slowly I just seem to give up. This usually happens within the first two weeks of January. But, since I've started blogging I know that I need to get my ass in gear and really drive myself into comitting to some very necessary changes in my life. I want to be able to physically write all of these down as well so I definately need a new planner/diary to help keep my life in order throughout the next year. Any recommendations? For now, these are some goals I hope to work on in 2018, both blogging and personal.

Film Review | Star Wars: The Last Jedi

So, I went to see my most anticipated film of the year last night, loved every second of it and wanted to share my thoughts on here. It was a bit of a rush getting to the cinema, not gonna lie. I took my younger brother who had his last day of school on the day and somehow I managed to book the tickets for half past 3 which made it a little tricky to get there on time. We ended up being nearly 20 minutes late but luckily for us we still had four minutes before the actual film started. We also had a lot of fun searching for our seats in the pitch black and having to repeatedly say sorry and thank you as we pushed past numerous people to get to them.

The Christmas Tag

This type of tag has been floating around the internet for years but this specific one is originally from milk bubble tea. I wasn't technically tagged by anyone but I wanted to be able to sit down and share some of my favourite things about Christmas and some of the traditions I have with my family and this tag is the perfect way to do it. So on with the questions...

Christmas Gift Guide | Furry Friends

Why should humans be the only ones that receive Christmas presents? Pets deserve something special or a little treat on Christmas morning too and the great thing about these gifts is that they won't break the bank either. Depending on how much you want to spend there's a variety of presents to choose from, from treats to toys there's bound to be something to match your budget that your furry friend will love.

Christmas Jumper Wishlist

I love a good Christmas jumper. Whether it's emblazoned with a pun or it's kept super simple, it's a tradition that my family all wear one on boxing day when we gather for our post-Christmas buffet. I've been on the lookout for an affordable but still festive jumper that I can wear this year and managed to find a load from shops on the high street. It's been hard to pick one therefore I've compiled my favourites into a list and hopefully I'll be able to wittle it down with some help.

Book Review | It Only Happens In The Movies by Holly Bourne

It Only Happens In The Movies by Holly Bourne
Published by Usborne in October 2017
Genre: Contemporary, Young Adult
Format: Paperback
Source: Library
Links: Goodreads, Amazon, The Book Depository

Synopsis
Audrey is over romance. Since her parents' relationship imploded her mother's been catatonic, so she takes a cinema job to get out of the house. But there she meets wannabe film-maker Harry. Nobody expects Audrey and Harry to fall in love as hard and fast as they do. But that doesn't mean things are easy. Because real love isn't like the movies...

The greatest love story ever told doesn't feature kissing in the snow or racing to airports. It features pain and confusion and hope and wonder and a ban on cheesy clichés. Oh, and zombies...

Manchester Christmas Markets

Last Thursday me and some friends decided to have a wander around the Christmas Markets as it's my first time experiencing them so of course I took my camera along with me to snap a few pictures. There's nothing like a Christmas market to get you in the festive mood and everywhere looked wonderful. The stalls were crammed with Christmas themed gifts and trinkets and don't even get me started on the food stalls. The German section smelt amazing and it took a lot of will power to not just buy everything and forget about the calories.

My Favourite Christmas Adverts

It's officially November which means it's pretty much Christmas and therefore time to start getting into the festive mood. It's also that time when all the Christmas adverts are released and it's honestly one of my favourite parts of the build up to Christmas. The John Lewis advert pretty much kicks off when everybody can start getting excited but whilst watching this years advert, I started thinking back on all my favourite Christmas adverts that have been released over the past few years and I decided to share them with you.

My September Wishlist

I have a bit of a problem when it comes to online shopping, I'm pretty good at refraining myself from actually buying anything but I like to constantly scroll through websites and add things to my mental wishlist. I like to imagine that I have an infinite amount of money and then look for things that I'd buy with it, most of it stuff that I don't even need. I then empty my basket after realising that my total comes to around £500. Money which I definately do not have.
However, I have compiled a pretty sensible list of items that i've found that I'd love to buy if I had the money to do so.

Introductions

I’ve wanted to start a blog for years. There’s been times where I’ve created one, posted once or twice and then completely forgotten about it or just lost interest. But today I’ve decided to take the plunge and stick to it this time.

So, why now? Well, I’m starting university in just under two weeks and I wanted somewhere to document this new chapter in my life. I knew I’d struggle to keep a written diary due to countless failed attempts in the past but I also like the idea of sharing my thoughts and feelings with the world. I’ve seen how close the blogger community has become and hopefully I might become part of it one day.
