The Christmas Tag

This type of tag has been floating around the internet for years but this specific one is originally from milk bubble tea. I wasn't technically tagged by anyone but I wanted to be able to sit down and share some of my favourite things about Christmas and some of the traditions I have with my family and this tag is the perfect way to do it. So on with the questions...

1. What is your favourite Christmas film/s?
This question is so difficult to answer and I always find that it changes depending on my mood and what type of film I fancy. The film that I constantly find myself coming back to year after year though is Love Actually. It's my feel good film. It's funny and romantic and it's got a stellar cast. I can't wait to put my feet up and watch it with my mum as some point.

2. Do you open your presents on Christmas Eve or Christmas Morning?
Definately Christmas morning. I think you get so much more excited knowing that when you wake up in the morning there's a stocking at the end of your bed and presents waiting for you downstairs. We'll normally open our stocking and a few small prezzies on Christmas morning and save the rest for when we get to my sister's house so we can all open them together.

3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory?
The one and only time my family went to midnight mass. I must have been around 8 or 9 and I remember being so excited about being able to stay up past my bedtime. The church was so magical and we sang hymns and Christmas carols before lighting a candle.Upon returning home, Mum made us all a hot chocolate and we watch some tv before we were told we had to go bed or no presents in the morning!

4. Favourite festive food?
Um, all of it? I'm not gonna lie, food is one of my favourite parts about Christmas. You can have roast dinners all year round but there's something extra special about it on Christmas day. Also, everything smothered in chocolate, pigs in blankets, Christmas drinks in Costa and Starbucks and all the desserts!

5. Favourite Christmas gift?
Was there anything better then scouring the Argos catologue and circling everything that you wanted? I think my favourite Christmas gift was when I was about five and I got this talking doll with a tea party set. My parents knew that I had wanted it for months, so opening it up on Christmas Day and seeing it was a memorable day of my childhood.

6. Favourite Christmas scent?
I especially love the smells of cinnamon, apple cider, the smell of Christmas dinner cooking and I have a peppermint Yankee candle that I'm super excited to light on Christmas Eve.

7. Do you have any Christmas Eve traditions?
Unfortunately, we're all a little too old for the whole putting out milk and mince pies for santa and a carrot for the reindeer but we still love to do something as a family. We always order some kind of takeaway for dinner because Mum will spend all day cooking on Christmas and we like to watch some kind of Christmas TV special or a family film. I also like to have a proper hot chocolate before bed too.

8. What tops your tree?
We have an angel that's been in our family for donkey's years. It's starting to get a little tattered but it sits a top our tree every year without fail.

9. As a kid what was the one (crazy, wild, extravagent) gift you always asked for but never recieved?
I think every kid always asked for a puppy for Christmas but very rarely ever got one. I think my parents knew that if they did end up buying us a dog eventually all responsibilities would be handed over to them no matter how much we said we'd look after it!

10. What's the best part about Christmas?
A very overused and cliche answer but honestly just being with family and getting to exchange gifts and have fun. I've only been at home a few days from university but it has made me realise how much I love my family and how much I miss them when I'm away. The atmosphere that happens around Christmas is also totally magical and everywhere looks amazing all lit up with lights and decorations. The food ain't half bad either!

Feel free to link your own Christmas tags or any other Christmas posts in the comments so I can have a little look and I can leave a comment!
