Top Ten Tuesday | Favourite Romantic Quotes

Top Ten
Tuesday is a weekly feature that highlights ten books that all relate to a certain topic and is  hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This Weeks Topic Is...

Valentine's Day freebie! I decided to take the easy route and highlight some of my favourite romantic passages and quotes!

💕 “He's more myself than I am. Whatever our souls are made of, his and mine are the same.” - Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte

💓 “Once upon a time there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering.” - The History of Love by Nicole Krauss

💖 “For the two of us, home isn't a place. It is a person. And we are finally home.” - Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

💗 “Well, it seems to me that the best relationships - the ones that last - are frequently the ones that are rooted in friendship. You know, one day you look at the person and you see something more than you did the night before. Like a switch has been flicked somewhere. And the person who was just a friend is... suddenly the only person you can ever imagine yourself with.” - Dana Scully, The X Files

💞 “In the darkness, two shadows, reaching through the hopeless, heavy dusk. Their hands meet, and light spills in a flood like a hundred golden urns pouring out of the sun.” - The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller

💕 “I've never had a moment's doubt. I love you. I believe in you completely. You are my dearest one. My reason for life." - Atonement by Ian McEwan

💓 “You know, when it works, love is pretty amazing. It's not overrated. There's a reason for all those songs.” - This Lullaby by Sarah Dessen

💖 “To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance.” - Oscar Wilde

💗  “I fell in love with him. But I don't just stay with him by default as if there's no one else available to me. I stay with him because I choose to, every day that I wake up, every day that we fight or lie to each other or disappoint each other. I choose him over and over again, and he chooses me.” - Allegiant by Veronica Roth

💞 “If there ever comes a day when we can't be together, keep me in your heart. I'll stay there forever.” - A.A. Milne

Yesterday was the four year anniversary of my Mum's passing so me and my siblings went for some lunch and then for a drink at the pub across the road to toast her. It's a difficult day but it helped being with my brothers and sister, getting to talk and spend some time together as we're always so busy these days. The food at the café was delicious though, I got a hot chocolate with everything and a BLT with fries. I also couldn't resist getting a massive slice of the lemon meringue cake to take home.

I've been struggling with college work lately and had a full blown anxiety attack on Tuesday in front of my tutor. I think all my stress and emotion just reared it's head, embarrassing but we talked and I know that I need to get myself on track if I want to qualify. She's coming out again this week so hopefully we'll have a more productive session.

 I'm currently reading:

The Gone & the Forgotten by Clare Whitfield, a 90's set coming of age/mystery about a 16 year old girl who travels to a remote Scottish Isle for the summer and discovers some hidden family secrets that turn her world upside down. Almost finished - 7% to go!
The Extraordinary Adventures of Alice Tonks by Emily Kenny, a middle grade set in a boarding school, where a young autistic girl called Alice discovers she can talk to animals and must solve the mystery of different animals disappearing. Only a couple of chapters in but enjoying it so far.
The Last to Vanish by Megan Miranda which is a thriller about a journalist going missing in a resort town and the manager of the local inn who finds herself involved with the investigation. Just started!

Still working my way through ER. On to episode 7 of the fifth season and loving the new character of Lucy Knight!

I've also jumped back into Shetland recently after a bit of a pause. I've finished series 3 and just started series 4. If you're not familiar with this show, it's a police procedural that investigates murders occurring on the Shetland Islands in Scotland. Gritty but really engrossing and well acted.

Currently obsessed with this song by JC Stewart, particularly this stripped back version on Spotify.

• On My Radar (March)
• TTT - Valentines edition
• WWW Wednesday
• Five Survive by Holly Jackson (Review)

Let me know what you've been up to this week with a comment, whether it's reading, watching or just life, I'd love to know! Happy Reading!
