September 2025 Watchlist

I thought I'd start a new monthly instalment of all the upcoming shows and movies premiering each month cause there's just something about anticipating a new show to binge!

 The Runarounds (Series, Prime Video)

→ 1st September

A group of high school graduates from Wilmington, North Carolina, come together to form a rock band, united by their shared love of music and dream of stardom.

I've already started the first episode of this one and I'm enjoying it. Prime are really killing it with the teen drama's lately, this one is a mix of Julie and the Phantoms (without the ghosts) and Outer Banks.

The Wrong Paris (Film, Netflix)

→ 12th September

A woman joins a dating show thinking it's in Paris, France for an art opportunity, but it's actually in Paris, Texas. She tries to get eliminated until falling for the bachelor, complicating her plans.

The Bachelor is such a guilty pleasure for me and this rom-com looks actually quite fun!

House of Guinness (Series, Netflix)

→ 25th September

Follows the aftermath of the death of brewery mogul, Sir Benjamin Guinness, and the great impact of his will on the fate of his four adult children: Arthur, Edward, Anne, Ben, and other Dubliners affected by the expanding Guinness empire.

This has a bunch of actors in that I love and the trailer looks really promising.

Wednesday, Season 2, Part 2 (Series, Netflix)

→ 3rd September

In the second season, Wednesday returns to Nevermore and, while developing her psychic abilities, must face a new tormentor and prevent her roommate's death. In addition, Pugsley enrols at Nevermore as Weems' successor Barry Dort wants Morticia to take on a fundraising role.

I've been waiting for the second part of the season to release so I can binge the whole season in one go. Although I may wait for October for max spooky vibes.

The Long Walk (Film, In Theatres)

→ 12th September

A group of teenage boys compete in an annual contest known as "The Long Walk," where they must maintain a certain walking speed or get shot.

I know this is based on a Stephen King book and the trailer just looks so good, I've already booked my ticket for opening day!

A Big Bold Beautiful Journey (Film, In Theatres)

→ 19th September

Through a surprising twist of fate, single strangers Sarah and David get to relive important moments from their respective pasts, illuminating how they got to where they are in the present.

I actually didn't know much about this until I saw the trailer a few days a go but it looks really magical and I like the whole portal/reliving memories thing.

Slow Horses (Season 5, Apple TV+)

→ 24th September (weekly)

A dysfunctional team of MI5 agents and their obnoxious boss, the notorious Jackson Lamb, navigate the espionage world's smoke and mirrors to defend England from sinister forces.

I binged all four seasons back in January and have been highly anticipating this fifth series. Such a good show, I recommend it to everyone.

Wayward (Series, Netflix)

→ 25th September

A small-town cop suspects that the local school for troubled teens and its dangerously charismatic founder may not be all it seems.

This looks super creepy and I just love Toni Colette!

The Girlfriend (Series, Prime Video)

→ 10th September

Laura's idyllic life is shattered when her son's new girlfriend seems suspicious. Determined to protect him, Laura's actions spiral out of control, raising the question: Is she justifiably cautious or consumed by paranoia?

Again, mostly know about this cause of Olivia Cooke but I love a good thriller and this looks twisty.

The Great British Bake Off (Series 16, Channel 4)

→ 2nd September (weekly)

Twelve home bakers take part in a 'bake off', which will test every aspect of their baking skills as they battle it out to be crowned the Great British Bake Off's Best Amateur Baker.

Bake Off is back! The perfect autumn show to get cozy with!

Task (Series, Sky)

→ 7th September

In the working class suburbs of Philadelphia, an FBI agent heads a Task Force to put an end to a string of violent robberies led by an unsuspecting family man.

I loved Mare of Easttown and this is from the same creators so I have high hopes.

Chad Powers (Series, Disney+)

→ 30th September

A disgraced college quarterback named Russ Holliday disguises himself as Chad Powers and walks onto a struggling southern football team to revive his football career.

I feel like a lot of these are quite heavy so a sports comedy will be a great palate cleanser.
