Top Ten Tuesday | Super Long Book Titles

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature that highlights ten books that all relate to a certain topic and is  hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This Weeks Topic Is...

Super Long Book Titles and this was pretty difficult. I tried to keep it to books that are actually on my TBR and although I have a lot of books on there, it still took me a while to compile this list. I do like long book titles though, they can be a bit wordy but they're nearly always loads of fun.

The Southern Book Club's Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix

I've been highly anticipating this book, I've heard so many people talking about it and raving about how good it is. I haven't read anything by Grady Hendrix yet but I do have My Best Friend's Exorcism on my TBR this month. It's described as Fried Green Tomatoes meets Steel Magnolias meets Dracula all of which I love, plus it's set in the 90's and has a bit of comedy in there to mix up the horror.

A Cuban Girl's Guide to Tea and Tomorrow by Laura Taylor Namey

First off, I love this cover! The colour scheme and the illustration, it's just so pretty! This books sounds super cute and major bonus points for it being set in England. The synopsis is also enticing the foodie in me and Orion already sounds like my kinda love interest.

The Life and (Medieval) Times of Kit Sweetly by Jamie Pacton

Kit Sweetly is just a frickin awesome name! I love the sound of this book, working at a medieval themed restaurant? Weirdly, a job that I think I'd enjoy. It's also meant to be quite feminist, with Kit fighting to be a knight (for boys only apparently). It just sounds like a really fun contemporary.

Sia Martinez and the Moonlit Beginning of Everything by Raquel Vasquez Gilliland

This book is about a Mexican American teenager and her experiences with immigration and discovering alien life in Arizona. I just need more light-hearted sci-fi/magical realism in my life and I think this will fit the bill.

Why Be Happy When You Could Be Normal? by Jeanette Winterson

This is a memoir that explores mental health, sexuality and adoption and I'm expecting this to be a heartbreaking and uplifting exploration of life.

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Perilous Journey by Trenton Lee Stewart

This is the second book in the Mysterious Benedict Society series and I read the first book when I was younger and I remember really enjoying it. As I've gotten more into middle grade over the last year, this has been a series that I've been interested in revisiting as it seems to be packed with fun, fantasy adventures.

The Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out of the Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson

I'm expecting this book to be on a lot of people's lists this week as it's one that automatically popped into my head when I read the prompt. This is such a well known novel and I do own it physically so I'm sure it won't be too long before I read it for myself because the title alone is enough to draw me in.

The Incredible True Story of the Making of the Eve of Destruction by Amy Brashear

Wow, is this one a mouthful! The premise sounds really fun though, it's set in the 80's and nuclear bombs are involved in some way! I also really love the cover as well.

The Seven Or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna by Juliet Grames

There are so many books with this kind of title wording that I'm starting to get them a little confused! It obviously works though as it's a big reason as to why I added it to my TBR in the first place! All I really know about this one is that it's set in Italy and follows two sisters over the course of their lives.

The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making by Catherynne M. Valente

This one is by far my favourite title out of the one's I've featured this week. It evokes such a magical and fantastical feeling when you read it. I adore fairytale-esque books and this is extremely high up on my TBR and I really want to get to it as soon as possible.

Which are some of your favourite long book titles? Leave a comment or link your own Top Ten Tuesday's for me to check out! Happy Reading!
