Down The TBR Hole #6

Someone needs to tell me to stop adding books because it's starting to become an addiction, every interesting book I come across on Goodreads, I have an automatic urge to add it even if the likelihood of me getting round to reading it anytime soon is low. My current to-read shelf is at 3974 this week.

The rules

  1. Go to your goodreads to-read shelf.
  2. Order on ascending date added.
  3. Take the first 5 (or 10 (or even more!) if youre feeling adventurous) books. Of course if you do this weekly, you start where you left off the last time.
  4. Read the synopses of the books
  5. Decide: keep it or should it go?

The Running Dream by Wendelin Van Draanen

I'm torn. It sounds like a good book, it's got an emotional plot but realistically I just don't see myself ever reaching for it unfortunately.

Verdict: Remove

Again, it sounds like a perfectly fine contemporary but I need to keep asking the question will I ever actually pick this up? I think the answer is no for now.

Verdict: Remove

Just from looking at the cover, I probably would have removed this but that synopsis is really intriguing. I don't think I've ever read a similar premise before and it's really making me want to know more.

Verdict: Keep

I saw the phrase Uggs-deep and immediately knew that this book wasn't going to be for me.

Verdict: Remove

This has pretty average reviews and i'm not interested in zombies under most circumstances so this book isn't particularly intriguing to me.

Verdict: Remove

I don't really know why I added this in the first place. I'm sure others would be interested but this isn't really to my reading taste.

Verdict: Remove

That cover is really beautiful and better yet, i'm actually interested in reading it. I'm not really a fae/fairy person but this sounds like a fairytale and I'm nearly always hooked by the mention of ghosts.

Verdict: Keep

I remember this being a book I checked out of the library when I was in my pre-teens and I'm pretty sure I started reading it but ended up DNFing. I'm not really interested in picking it back up though so I'm going to remove it.

Verdict: Remove

This is a well known dystopian series and I think I own the first book although I'm not 100% sure. I would like to read it someday as I know it's one that a lot of people were reading around The Hunger Games and the Divergent era.

Verdict: Keep

Maybe I just like the title but something about this book is making me want to hold onto the idea of reading it just a little while longer!

Verdict: Keep

This Week:

Kept: 4
Removed: 6

Overall:

Kept: 28
Removed: 32

Still doing ok with removing books I won't ever pick up but I may have to bump my posts up to include 20 books because I'm adding them faster then I can remove them!
