Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature that highlights ten books that all relate to a certain topic and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This Weeks Topic Is...
Funny Book Titles. I love a good funny title, it can immediately grab your attention and give you a glimpse into the kind of book you're going to get. Hopefully you'll find some of these picks as amusing as I did.
So Long, and Thanks For All the Fish (The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy #4) by Douglas Adams
By far the most amusing title from this series. I've only read the first book so I haven't got the slightest clue what it means or what it's related to but that's probably what's so funny about it. My brother really likes these books so they're on my list of series to continue.
Save a Truck, Ride a Redneck by Molly Harper
I'll be honest, I almost spat my drink out when I first read this title. Apparently this is a cute romance novella set in Georgia which quite surprised me as from the title I was expecting something a little more steamy to be the case.
Zoey Punches the Future in the Dick (Zoey Ashe #2) by David Wong
I'm not usually one for penis humour but I'll make an exception here. I've never even heard of this series but this title alone has made me want to go and start reading it, it sounds hilarious and I've never read a sci-fi thriller before.
You Don't Have to Be Evil to Work Here, But it Helps by Tom Holt
Another series I'd never heard but would now be interested in picking up. I mean, a company that secretly deals in all things magic and fantastical sounds amazing. I also have the kind of humour that would definitely have this hung up somewhere in my workplace.
Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? by Philip K. Dick
Again, no clue what this title means cause I haven't seen even seen the film adaptation. It makes me think of a futuristic proverb that grandparents say and you just kind of nod along althought secretly you think they might be losing it...
How I Killed Pluto and Why it Had it Coming by Mike Brown
I'm still kinda bitter that they just got rid of pluto, it didn't deserve to be excluded just because he was slightly smaller then the others, OK?! The title of this book is pretty funny thought when you find out that the author is the guy who essentially made all of that happen!
The Scandalous Sisterhood of Prickwillow Place by Julie Berry
This isn't that funny really, just really fun to say out loud and rolls off the tongue nicely. Go on, try saying it ten times fast!
The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Barrows
Another tongue twister and possibly one of my favourite titles of all time. I don't even know what it is but it just sounds so quaint and cosy when you read it out loud and a society I'd love to join in real life although I'm not sure I could be persuaded to try potato peel pie myself.
It's Getting Scot in Here (Wild Wicked Highlanders #1) by Suzanne Enoch
It's getting scot in here so take off all your clothes! 🎶 Love a good punny title. Plus, one of the sequels is Hit Me With Your Best Scot 😂
The Quantum Curators and the Fabergé Egg by Eva St. John
What's a fabergé egg you ask? No idea. How do you pronounce it? Not a clue. Stick it in a book title though and I'll definitely read it.
I love your little twist on the prompt. Yes, How I Killed Pluto and Why it Had it Coming!
