WWW Wednesday | 07/04/2021

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words that highlights three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you'll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished Roundabout by Rhiannon Lassiter at the weekend and pretty much read it in a day. It was a fairly good contemporary that focused on five different girls who come from traveler backgrounds and the prejudice they face against them as well as their attempts to stop a roundabout being built right next to their site. I enjoyed it more then I thought I would and it was quick and interesting.

What are you currently reading?

I've started on Six of Crows by Leigh Bardugo and I'm about 160 pages in. I've fallen slightly behind with the readalong dates so I'm gonna try and get a good hour in today. I am enjoying it a lot so far, the action is a lot more fast paced and I really like that we get chapters from each of the character's POV's.

I borrowed The Glass Hotel by Emily St. John Mandel from my library app a while back and I've got about 12 days left to finish it so I need to start focusing on it more. It is a confusing series of events so far, it jumps around quite a bit and I'm not too sure where it's going but I love Mandel's writing.

I also picked up Jog On: How Running Saved My Life by Bella Mackie as I've just started doing Couch to 5k (which is a complete bitch but i'm sticking with it). I'm still not sold on running but hopefully reading about someone else's experience will keep my momentum up.

What do you think you'll read next?

Of course, Crooked Kingdom by Leigh Bardugo will be the next thing I pick up and then I'll have finally completed all the Grishaverse books (well, the one's I needed to before the Netflix show comes out). I would like to pick up King of Scars at some point but it probably won't be for a while now. I need time away from this world for a bit!

Welcome to the world of the Grisha.

Kaz Brekker and his crew of deadly outcasts have just pulled off a heist so daring even they didn't think they'd survive. But instead of divvying up a fat reward, they're right back to fighting for their lives.

Double-crossed and badly weakened, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope. As powerful forces from around the world descend on Ketterdam to root out the secrets of the dangerous drug known as jurda parem, old rivals and new enemies emerge to challenge Kaz's cunning and test the team's fragile loyalties.

A war will be waged on the city's dark and twisting streets - a battle for revenge and redemption that will decide the fate of the Grisha world.

Have you read any of these? What were your thoughts? What are you currently reading and hoping to pick up next? Leave a comment or link your own WWW Wednesdays below for me to check out!
