Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature that highlights ten books that all relate to a certain topic and is hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.
This Weeks Topic Is...
Colourful Book Covers. I'm here for any topic that allows me to highlight beautiful covers and as you can see, I'm definitely drawn towards books with blue, purple and pink shades. Something about these combinations really capture my eye and I find myself more inclined to pick it up!
The Lost Apothecary by Sarah Penner
I just adore this cover. I seem to have a major affinity for floral covers and ones that feature nature. It's eye catching and I love the sketched potion bottle and the contrast it has with the other elements. I'm desperate to get my hands on a physical copy soon.
You Had Me At Hola by Alexis Daria
This has got to be one of the most vibrant covers I've ever seen. The choice of colours are beautiful and the style of illustration seems perfect for the content. I mean those are some hot characters! Excuse me whilst I fan myself...
The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune
I just got myself a copy of this book (finally!) and I adore books with stunning sunsets/sunrises on their covers. This one has a really calming effect with all the pastel going on and I think it really works for an adult book that has the feel of a middle grade.
The Mall by Megan McCafferty
The more neon, the better! I love the simplicity of this one but the bright, neon effect still manages to make an impact for me. It also reflects the 90's setting really well too.
The Fangirls Guide to the Universe by Sam Maggs
You see what I mean about all the pink, blue and purple! 🙈 Whack a splash of yellow in there and we're in business!
A Clock of Stars by Francesca Gibbons
Mixing it up with a bit of middle grade. I particularly love the typography for this one, using a clock in the space of the O gives it a magical touch. Chris Riddell's illustations are just as magical as well.
I'm a Gay Wizard by V.S. Santoni
This was a netgalley ARC that I didn't manage to download in time (boo) but the cover stuck with me because of just how many colours they managed to fit on there. If you're going to write a book about a gay wizard then you need a bright, colourful cover!
All Our Hidden Gifts by Caroline O'Donoghue
This design? Incredible! Major magical vibes and the illustrations are some of my favourites, love that it has a tarot card design to reflect the book.
Early Departures by Justin A. Reynolds
I really like the shadow-esque effect going on here especially with the font they chose. The colours have a really calming effect that remind me of a sunset, they blend really well together.
Blazewrath Games by Amparo Ortiz
Pink and blue shades just contrast really well in my opinion. Add some colourful but fierce dragons on there and we've got ourselves a winner in my eyes.
I adore the cover for You Had Me at Hola!

The pink really pops against the darker blue background, doesn't it? Very eye-catching.
