Top Ten Tuesday | Most Anticipated Releases July-December 2019

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature that highlights ten books that all relate to a certain topic and is  hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This Weeks Topic Is... 

Most Anticipated Releases of the Second Half of 2019 and my god was it hard to wittle this down to ten. There are so many good books being released in the upcoming months but these are some that I'm extremely excited for.

Wilder Girls by Rory Power

This just sounds really intriguing, from what I can gather some kind of deadly virus is wiping people out at a school on an island and someone goes missing? Plus it has LBTQ+ rep.

It's been eighteen months since the Raxter School for Girls was put under quarantine. Since the Tox hit and pulled Hetty's life out from under her.

It started slow. First the teachers died one by one. Then it began to infect the students, turning their bodies strange and foreign. Now, cut off from the rest of the world and left to fend for themselves on their island home, the girls don't dare wander outside the school's fence, where the Tox has made the woods wild and dangerous. They wait for the cure they were promised as the Tox seeps into everything.

But when Byatt goes missing, Hetty will do anything to find her, even if it means breaking quarantine and braving the horrors that lie beyond the fence. And when she does, Hetty learns that there's more to their story, to their life at Raxter, than she could have ever thought true.  

Swipe Right For Murder by Derek Milman

A murder mystery set in New York where the MC is on the run from the FBI and some kind of cult? Yes please.

Finding himself alone in a posh New York City hotel room for the night, Aidan does what any red-blooded seventeen-year-old would do---he tries to hook up with someone new. This apparently has really good rep for generalised anxiety disorder, something which I suffer with, so I'm so super excited to see how it's portrayed here.

This just sounds so good plus I have this thing about creepy old houses but this one has a magical element to it.

This sounds right up my street, it's got a murder and a small town setting obsessed with ghosts. Gimme, gimme, gimme.

Can you tell I really like creepy, witchy-esque books?

Be careful of the dark, dark wood . . .

I love mythological inspired books/fairytale retellings almost as much as I like dark, creepy books so I'm so excited for this. It's a Little Mermaid inspired retelling and it incorporates mental health into it. I've just been approved for an ARC through Netgalley so I can't wait to read it.

Coral has always been different, standing out from her mermaid sisters in a society where blending in is key. Worse yet, she fears she has been afflicted with the dreaded Disease, said to be carried by humans—emotions. Can she face the darkness long enough to surface in the light?

Above the sea, Brooke has nothing left to give. Depression and anxiety have left her feeling isolated. Forgotten.
