What I Watched in March 2026

Boy, did I watch a ton of films in March! There was so much to catch in cinemas this month and I also got to a few 2025 releases that I missed.

Fun and Fancy Free (1947)

I actually don't have a lot to say about this one mostly cause I can't remember what even happened! I only gave it 2.5 stars so I can't have enjoyed it that much. Some Disney shorts are good but a fair few are pretty forgettable which I think is the case here.

Good Luck, Have Fun, Don't Die (2026)

This was madness but actually so much fun! This is a sci-fi/action/comedy with a brilliant cast about a man claiming to be from the future who takes a group of people hostage to help him save the world. We get little vignettes to get to know the group better but my favourite part was them going on this journey together. Me and my brother did describe it as one long Black Mirror episode but still a good time.

Eternity (2025)

I was really sad when I missed this in cinema last year so couldn't wait for it to arrive on streaming. When June and Larry die they are given a number of days to decide where they want to spend eternity but their decision is complicated by the arrival of June's first husband Luke. This was really sweet and romantic, I actually kind of liked both options but June did make the right choice in the end. I did see one review describe the premise of this as hell for Libra's and I 100% agree!

Melody Time (1948)

Another one that I don't remember a ton about... I remember only liking one short out of this collection and it was the one about Johnny Appleseed.

Cold Storage (2026)

I was worried this was going to be too gross for me but it didn't end up being too bad. Another fun sci-fi film about a mutating virus that escapes a secure facility and the two members of staff that have to make it through the night. Joe Keery and Georgina Campbell had great chemistry which made this a really fun watch. Nothing groundbreaking but a good way to spend 100 minutes.

The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad (1949)

I think this is the last of the whole 'films made up shorts' thing that Disney did early on. This one was a little more enjoyable as I was familiar with both source materials AKA The Wind in the Willows and Sleepy Hollow. Surprisingly, I think I preferred Mr. Toad's story more as I found my attention wavering in the second short.

Alice in Wonderland (1951)

I read the book a few days before I watched this and they really do a great job of bringing the story to life (and I'm kinda glad they took out some of the more boring parts!). I just love the whimsy and bonkers vibe of Alice in Wonderland, it was always one of my favourite Disney films growing up.

Hoppers (2026)

Pixar's latest and I really liked it. I thought the animation and the story were cute however I don't know how much it'll hold up just in terms of Pixar's entire catalogue. Pixar films are always solid but I think their popularity is slowly decreasing with each release which is a shame cause I think they are really enjoyable.  I do think there are some similarities to be had with The Wild Robot as well which is by far the better film.

A House of Dynamite (2025)

This film was dire and so boring. For a film with a decent cast and fairly promising premise, they just didn't know what to do with it. I said in my Letterbox review that it's basically a film about a bunch of people making phone calls. There's no conclusion either, it just ends. Such a bad film.

Another one I really wanted to see in cinema but just didn't get to. This was a smaller British release about an eccentric lottery winner who lives alone on a remote island who tries to make his fantasies come true by getting his favourite musicians to perform at his home. This was really charming and I liked the whole 'jaded musician coming to realise what's actually important in life'. It was lovely and kind of sad but witty at the same time.

Crime 101 (2026)

This one was kind of meh for me about an elusive thief pulling off heists and the cop trying to track him down. Everything was just OK, it was solid but could've been better I suppose.

Materialists (2025)

I actually wanted to like this more than I did, I don't know what it was about it. I definitely liked the way the story was told but I think the tone was a little different than what I expected. Sometimes I actually liked the sort of secondary plot more where Lucy was trying to handle the fact that a match she made ended in assault. If this hadn't been promoted as a rom-com I think it might've been better received.

Mother's Pride (2026)

I always like supporting smaller British films when they're released in cinema and this was a nice afternoon watch. Set in a small village, a musician returns home to help his family's struggling pub and suggests they start making their own real ale. It doesn't do anything particularly special but it's quite heartwarming. I would've like it to have been funnier though considering they got some good comedic actors.

Project Hail Mary (2026)

I think they did such a fantastic job adapting this book for the big screen, it was visually incredible. Having finished the book a few days before, everything was still fresh in my mind and seeing it brought to life so vividly was an amazing experience. Ryan Gosling was the perfect choice for Grace, I loved seeing his friendship with Rocky on screen and overall it was a pretty perfect adaptation.

Monster's Inc (2001) (Rewatch)

I actually put this on for the kids at my nursery as a Friday treat before they went home and we got about halfway into it so when I got home I just decided to finish it! Such a good film though, one of the best animated films of all time.

My brother really wanted to see the sequel but neither of us had seen the first film so we sat down and watched it last week. This films been out a few years so I did know the basic plot and wasn't really surprised by anything. It's a good film though, good performances although the main character made so many stupid choices that we were constantly shouting at the TV!

Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come (2026)

I'm surprised it took 7 years for a sequel to be released but I'm really glad they did one cause I actually think it improved on a lot of things from the first film. It felt a lot more tense and had stronger characters, better deaths (if that makes sense 😂) and was just overall more entertaining!

How to Make a Killing (2026)

Final film of the month. I saw a lot of murder films this week, I'm just realising! I was excited to see this cause I think Glen Powell does a great job at picking entertaining projects and I liked it but didn't love it. I did like where the story went and I think the ending was pretty fitting!

The Lady (ITV)

I was really looking forward to this show cause I love Mia Mckenna-Bruce and it was about a former Royal family staff member who committed murder. It should've been really good but it was actually kind of boring... I don't think the cast performances were the best and it just didn't really hook me all that much.

Formula 1: Drive to Survive S8 (Netflix)

I also watched the latest season of Drive to Survive following the 2025 season of F1. This series is entertaining and I do like the inside/behind the scenes look at the drivers but it also dramatises so much and I mean I watched most of the action in real time so it is just one big recap at the end of the day.

What did you watch in March? Have you seen any of these or are any on your watchlist? Leave a comment below! Thanks for reading 😊
