Here's my yearly check-in as that's all I seem to be managing at the moment! I'm on annual leave for two weeks so got my motivation back obviously. I definitely need these two weeks though even though we've just come back from Christmas break - I'm already starting to feel burnt out again which is not a good sign.

I'm looking forward to a few weeks of relaxing, catching up on tv and plenty of reading. And hopefully some regular blogging as well!

★ Finished Honey by Isabel Banta on Friday night and really enjoyed it. Set in the late 90's/early 2000's, this explored the reality of fame for young pop stars in that era. How the media viewed young female popstars of the time was very apparent and overall it felt realistic and nostalgic.

★ I started Two Truths and a Lie by April Henry yesterday and I'm already over 60% in. It's a super quick read but not sure I'm really loving it. The premise is interesting but the pacing is too quick and everything feels rushed from the characters and plot to the relationships forming. The characters are too familiar with each other considering they've known each other less than 24 hours! Gonna finish it this morning though.

★ I've started Slow Horses this week and loving it! It's my new favourite show and I'm just about to begin season 3. If you're looking a new binge-worthy series about a rag-tag group of MI5 agents with lots of action then you're in luck.

★ Then last night I watched Viva Las Vegas as I've never actually watched an Elvis film before. I thought it was pretty enjoyable. Elvis and the lead female had great chemistry and the songs were fun, if a little out of the blue sometimes. Not sure it needed so many random singing moments. Also, I was looking forward to more racing scenes but apart from the end there wasn't much!

I've been obsessed with this song, Love Letter by Knox, for the last 48 hours! It's so good and it's on constant repeat.

I've been loving watching everyone filling out their 2024 reading journals and starting their 2025 ones. I'm super nosy about stuff like this so I love seeing everyone's spread. I'd love to start one of my own but not sure I'm creative enough and I have a bad habit of starting new hobbies and then abandoning them halfway through!

I posted my December Reading Wrap Up finally! You can check out everything I read by clicking the link!
