Choker by Elizabeth Woods
Sixteen-year-old Cara Lange has always been a loner, even more so since she moved away from her best and only friend, Zoe, a few years ago. Cara mostly spends her time avoiding the popular girls who call her 'choker' after a humiliating incident in the cafeteria, and watching Ethan Gray from a distance, wishing he would finally notice her.
Then one day Cara comes home and finds Zoe waiting for her. Zoe's on the run from problems at home, and Cara agrees to help her hide. With Zoe back, Cara's life changes overnight. Zoe gives her a new look and new confidence, and before she can blink, Cara is flirting with Ethan and getting invited to parties. And best of all, she has her best friend to confide in again.
But just as quickly as Cara's life came together, it starts to unravel. A girl goes missing in her town, and everyone is a suspect ~ including Ethan. Worse still, Zoe starts behaving very strangely, and Cara begins to wonder what exactly her friend does all day when she's at school. You're supposed to be able to trust your best friend no matter what, but what if she turns into a total stranger?
I'm a little worried about how cliche this sounds but so many people have said this is super creepy and intense that I'm gonna look past it.

Something wicked this way comes...

I'm owned this book for years and even though I love witchy books, I still haven't found the time to pick it up.

Appears to be a YA book that floated (ha!) under the radar and I doubt I'd be able to find a copy even I was bothered about reading it.

Kissing the Bee by Kathe Koja

As Dana reminds us, in every hive there is only one queen bee.
One I'd pick up if I spotted it in my library but I'm not more bothered about it then that.

Waiting for Normal by Leslie Connor
Addie is waiting for normal. But Addie's mother has an all-or-nothing approach to life: a food fiesta or an empty pantry, her way or no way.
Addie’s mother is bipolar, and she often neglects Addie. All-or-nothing never adds up to normal, and it can't bring Addie home, where she wants to be with her half-sisters and her stepfather. But Addie never stops hoping that one day, maybe, she'll find normal.
Pretty much the same feelings as the book above.

Belles (Belles #1) by Jen Calonita
Fifteen-year-old Isabelle Scott loves her life
by the boardwalk on the supposed wrong side of the tracks in North

an outsider, and, in addition to dealing with all the rumors and

Surprisingly the concept sounds really interesting to me (the girl who doesn't read much YA contemporary anymore), maybe it's just that it's giving me The OC vibes but southern.

172 Hours on the Moon by Johan Harstad
Three teenagers are going on the trip of a lifetime. Only one is coming back.
It's been more than forty years since NASA sent the first men to the moon, and to grab some much-needed funding and attention, they decide to launch an historic international lottery in which three lucky teenagers can win a week-long trip to moon base DARLAH 2 - a place that no one but top government officials even knew existed until now.
The three winners, Antoine, Midori, and Mia, come from all over the world. But just before the scheduled launch, the teenagers each experience strange, inexplicable events. Little do they know that there was a reason NASA never sent anyone back there until now-a sinister reason. But the countdown has already begun. . .
I like space books but this premise sounds really dumb.

Dying to Know You by Aidan Chambers
Karl, aged seventeen, is hopelessly in love. But the object of his affections, Fiorella, demands proof, and poses him a series of questions regarding his attitude to the many sides of love. But Karl is dyslexic, and convinced that if Fiorella finds out, she will think he is stupid, and unworthy of her, and leave him.
So Karl asks a local writer to help him construct his replies - and an unlikely, but extremely touching, friendship develops between the two men. They both come to learn a great deal about about life from a very different perspective, and when an act of violence shatters their calm, they find their respective appraisal of life shifting in profound ways.
Interesting premise but not sure how motivated I would be to pick it up judging from the average reviews.

Counting Backwards by Laura Lascarso
Three weeks ago I tried to run away from home. Now all I want is to go back.
When troubled Taylor Truwell is caught with a stolen car and lands in court for resisting arrest, her father convinces the judge of an alternative to punishment: treatment in a juvenile psychiatric correctional facility. Sunny Meadows is anything but the easy way out, and Taylor has to fight hard just to hold on to her sanity as she battles her parents, her therapist, and vicious fellow patients. But even as Taylor struggles to hold on to her stubborn former self, she finds herself relenting as she lets in two unlikely friends--Margo, a former child star and arsonist, and AJ, a mysterious boy who doesn’t speak.
I'm always a little wary of books set in psychiatric facilities but the reviews for this one are pretty positive.

Audrey, Wait! by Robin Benway
Audrey Cuttler's life hasn't been the same since that song, "Audrey, Wait!" hit the airwaves. All she wants to do is go to concerts, hang out with her friends, and maybe score a date with the cute boy who works with her at the Scooper Dooper.
But now, her ex-boyfriend's song about their breakup is at the top of the charts and she's suddenly famous! The paparazzi won't leave her alone, the tabloids are trying to make her into some kind of rock goddess, and the Internet is documenting her every move!
Will Audrey ever be able to have a normal life again? Get ready to find out, because it's time for Audrey to tell her side of the story.
I don't think this would've been my kind of book even back when I added it...
