Top Ten Tuesday | Books I Want to Read Again

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly feature that highlights ten books that all relate to a certain topic and is  hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl.

This Weeks Topic Is...

Books I Want To Read Again and to be honest, I'm not a massive re-reader in general mostly because I'd rather read brand new books that I know nothing about. I'll admit there are few that definitely feel comforting to go back to now and again and there are a few books in my list that I want to read again so I can continue on with the series.

Dash & Lily's Book of Dares by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan

This is purely because I'm currently watching the Netflix adaptation at the minute and loving it! It made me realise that it's been a good seven years since I read this book and the tv show is just so cute and warm and festive and I just really want to reread it now. I was debating reading it again in December but I already have way too much to squeeze in before the end of the year so it'll probably be next year now.

Sadie by Courtney Summers

I listened to the audiobook in July and it just blew me away, it was so so good and has definitely persuaded me that I don't hate all audiobooks. I do think at some point I'll want to relisten to it, probably not for another year or more though, because I haven't been able to get it out of my head since. I also want to read more from Courtney Summers as well at some point.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

I own the entire Grishaverse series including Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom and yet this one is still the only one I've read and I read it over two years ago. Obviously with the Netflix show coming out at some point I really do want to do a full read of this series before then so I'm going to be trying my best to do that in 2021.

Cinder by Marissa Meyer

I read this book back in 2015 and I remember enjoying it a lot but then I never continued on with the rest of the books. It's a shame because I think I could really like this series. I mean, what's better then fairytale inspired sci-fi?

The Geography of You and Me by Jennifer E. Smith

Apparently I read this but I can't remember hardly anything about it especially in the second half and I still own it as well. This authors books have been a bit hit or miss with me and I initially gave this one only two stars but I would like to try again and see if my feelings could change.

Beartown by Frederik Backman

This duology about a Swedish hockey town is one of my all time favourites. Backman's writing is so gorgeous and these books are truly wonderful. I really want to revisit them at some point but I just need to get around to buying my own copies as I orginally borrowed them from the library.

Truly Devious by Maureen Johnson

I really enjoyed this YA mystery when I read it last year and I just want to read it a second time to familiarise myself with the characters and the setting again before moving on to the second book.

Normal People by Sally Rooney

I read this book earlier in the year just before the series came out (apparently this is the only thing that makes me pick up books!) and whilst it wasn't a new favourite for some reason I keep thinking that I want to go back to it eventually. This definitely won't be for a good few years but yeah, it was just a really good book and I adored Marianne and Connell's relationship.

Amy & Rogers Epic Detour by Morgan Matson

When I do re-read this it will be for the fourth time so it's safe to say I won't get sick of this book. It's one of my all time favourites and I love how comforting I find the characters at this point and Morgan Matson's writing is a dream. She's by far my favourite contemporary author and her books are some that I'll always come back to.

The Hobbit by J.R.R. Tolkien

I've been thinking recently that I'd like to do a full series read of the Lord of the Rings because I've only read The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring. These books are just very slow and pretty dense at times which is why I kind of stopped reading them but I am determined to finish them all eventually, it's just finding time in my reading schedule to do it.

Are you a big re-reader? Which books would you like to re-read at some point?  Leave a comment or link your own Top Ten Tuesday's for me to check out! Happy Reading!

  1. The Lord of the Rings are quite slowly paced at times for sure. But there are beautiful scenes in all of them. Good luck with you reread!

  3. Same. I rarely re-read. TRULY DEVIOUS is one I need to revisit, though. It's been so long since I read it that I can't remember most of the story and I don't want to move on with the series without remembering what's going on! My memory is terrible, LOL.

    Happy TTT!

  5. I wouldn't mind rereading Beartown. I would like to listen to it the second time around, though. I feel like that would be a good experience.
