Boy, have I been struggling the last few weeks with all these heatwaves in the UK. I am not a summer person, in fact it's my least favourite season and all this hot weather is making me a sweaty, uncomfortable mess. I've been surviving on mini turbo fans, magnums and my brother finally cracked out the small pool we have so I've been submerging myself in that. Bring on Autumn, please! 

★ I finished The Watch by Joydeep Roy-Bhattacharya yesterday and I had mixed feelings about it. I thought the first chapter was really good and had me hooked but the rest of the book just wasn't as gripping. A bit meh in the end but I'm glad to have ticked off Afghanistan from the Reads the World challenge. 

★ I then started Just Breathe by Cammie McGovern on kindle. This was a random library borrow, I was just in the mood for some YA contemporary and this was giving The Fault in Our Stars/All the Bright Places vibes. I'm at 20% and it's mostly OK so far, nothing much to say yet. 

★ I went to go and see Supergirl this afternoon and I have to admit, it was kinda disappointing. I think it needed a better script and plot overall, cause I did love Millie Alcock as Kara. There's probably something wrong when the best parts of a film about Supergirl are the scenes where Superman appears...  3/5 

★ I'm about halfway through I Will Find You and really enjoying it so far. I haven't seen all of Harlen Coben's series but this one has had some hype and I do like a good thriller every now and again. I'm intrigued to see where it goes from here and what plot twists are still up their sleeves. 

★ I've been loving this song by Sombr since it came out thanks to TikTok. I also really need to listen to Olivia Rodrigo's new album in full as I've only heard a couple of songs so far.    

The World Cup, obvs! This tournament has reignited my love of the sport and I've been tuning in to as many matches as I can regardless of who's playing. Plus, England are actually doing well? We're through to the semi's but it's against Argentina so I'm not holding my breath that it's actually coming home just yet!
