We've reached the end of summer! It's been very bittersweet this week as the last of the children moving up to primary school have left the nursery and I've been very sad about it. These are the children that joined as babies when I first started my job back in April 2021 and I've watched them grow over the last four years and it'll be so weird that they won't be there anymore. I was very close to tears as most of them were my favourites (shh, every childcare practitioner has them!). But next week is the start of Autumn term and I love planning for new months and activities plus we're so quiet in toddler room this term! I've gone from 9 key children to 4 but I'm not complaining as the workload will be so much easier!
Also this week, I completed the first half of my first aid certificate which needed renewing. It meant a Saturday in work doing all the practical stuff like CPR and choking manoeuvres but I do feel a lot more confident now having that refresher.
We also celebrated my niece's 8th birthday on Monday. The weather was glorious and it was such a nice day! Although, I'm absolutely sick of that song from K-pop Demon Hunters as it's all she wanted on the Alexa!
★ I finished The Traitor of Sherwood Forest by Amy S. Kaufman on Friday and I enjoyed it. This is a sort of retelling of Robin Hood but not as you might know him. I love a retelling and I thought the author did a really great job of giving this story a strong female character as an outsider viewpoint. It felt a little slow at times but I still liked it.
★ I then started The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett and I knew from the start this was going to be a winner. It has a quirky voice to it that I adore and I love the author's storytelling choices. I'm excited to get into the thick of the plot as I'm currently around 15% in.
★ Still obsessed with The Summer I Turned Pretty. I can't believe we've reached the end of the books plot already! These last 3 episodes are going to be interesting but I can't wait to see Belly find herself in Paris but I need that Bonrad endgame!
★ I watched the new series of My Life with the Walter Boys and whilst I kinda liked the first series, the second one was kinda bad. Most of the plot points just felt pointless and the main characters were getting on my nerves a lot. The acting is so bad most of the time and that cliff hanger ending? So stupid. Jackie is just awful for doing that again!
★ Then on Friday, me and my brother went to the cinema to see Caught Stealing which was so much fun! I love Austin Butler and it was action-packed with a lot of funny moments too. Matt Smith stole the show!

★ I'm obsessed with this snippet of the new Walk off the Earth song which releases on Friday!
★ I know everyone's playing this game at the minute but it's so cozy and addictive! I played the demo a while back so I've been waiting for the full game to be released. I haven't completed it yet but I've seen other people have so I just hope that they release an extension of some kind soon so people can keep playing. I also wish they'd fix the recommendations part cause I'm sick of these customers rejecting my thought out books!
★ Don't shoot me! But I love that all the Christmas décor is starting to be released cause it's getting me so excited for the ber months! Definitely going to have to order some of that wrapping paper cause it's gorgeous!
