I like historical fiction but I tend to lean more towards fantasy or mystery rather then romance.

I know I just said that I don't tend to read historical romance BUT this has a ghostly element plus it features actual photographs from the time period.

Ok, I have read the first book in this series 6 years ago and I enjoyed it but I hardly remember much about it so do I really want to continue? I remember it also wrapped up pretty well so I'm not sure if sequels were necessary.

I do own this so it may as well stay on the shelf.

Geek Girl (Geek Girl #1) by Holly Smale
Harriet Manners knows a lot of things.
She knows that a cat has 32 muscles in each ear, a "jiffy" lasts 1/100th of a second, and the average person laughs 15 times per day. What she isn't quite so sure about is why nobody at school seems to like her very much. So when she's spotted by a top model agent, Harriet grabs the chance to reinvent herself. Even if it means stealing her Best Friend's dream, incurring the wrath of her arch enemy Alexa, and repeatedly humiliating herself in front of the impossibly handsome supermodel Nick. Even if it means lying to the people she loves.
As Harriet veers from one couture disaster to the next with the help of her overly enthusiastic father and her uber-geeky stalker, Toby, she begins to realise that the world of fashion doesn't seem to like her any more than the real world did.
And as her old life starts to fall apart, the question is: will Harriet be able to transform herself before she ruins everything?
I feel like this will be a bit young for my tastes as it seems geared towards a younger YA audience.

She’s armed with her vital potions, a too-cute pig, and Fred, the charming adventurer she can’t stop thinking about. Kyra is determined to get herself a second chance (at murder), but will she be able to find and defeat the princess before Hal and the army find her?
An interesting premise but with people mention gaping plot holes and a lagging story, I think I'll give it a miss.

Another one sitting on my physical bookshelf. I read Annabel Pitcher's debut years back so I clearly wanted to read more from her.
