Speechless by Hannah Harrington
Everyone knows that Chelsea Knot can't keep a secret

Although I'm not reading much YA realistic fiction at the moment, I feel like I would regret passing over a book with such positive reviews.

Small Damages by Beth Kephart
It’s senior year, and while Kenzie should be looking forward to prom and starting college in the fall, she is mourning the loss of her father. She finds solace in the one person she trusts, her boyfriend, and she soon finds herself pregnant. Kenzie’s boyfriend and mother do not understand her determination to keep the baby. She is sent to southern Spain for the summer, where she will live out her pregnancy as a cook’s assistant on a bull ranch, and her baby will be adopted by a Spanish couple.
Alone and resentful in a foreign country, Kenzie is at first sullen and difficult. She begins to open her eyes and her heart to the beauty that is all around her and inside of her.
This has such an odd premise (why is she being sent to Spain to be a kitchen assistant on a bull ranch??). However, a lot of people have described it as a quiet, gentle story of self-discovery which is exactly my cup of tea so I'm gonna keep an open mind on this one.

Over You by Emma McLaughlin & Nicola Kraus

With her clients’ hearts hanging in the balance, Max will have to do the seemingly impossible: get over him once and for all.
Meh, this synopsis doesn't interest me at all.

Don't Turn Around (Persefone #1) by Michelle Gagnon
Sixteen-year-old Noa has been a victim of the system ever since her parents died. Now living off the grid and trusting no one, she uses her hacking skills to stay anonymous and alone. But when she wakes up on a table in a warehouse with an IV in her arm and no memory of how she got there, Noa starts to wish she had someone on her side.
Enter Peter Gregory. A rich kid and the leader of a hacker alliance, Peter needs people with Noa’s talents on his team. Especially after a shady corporation threatens his life in no uncertain terms. But what Noa and Peter don’t realize is that Noa holds the key to a terrible secret, and there are those who’d stop at nothing to silence her for good.
I'm kind of torn with this book. The synopsis does sound interesting but a lot of reviews talk about how nothing is resolved in this book and the lack of character development, so I'd be committing to the entire trilogy at this point. I think I'll remove it but possibly come back to it later.

Fingerprints of You by Kristen-Paige Madonia
Lemon grew up with Stella, a single mom who wasn’t exactly maternal. Stella always had a drink in her hand and a new boyfriend every few months, and when things got out of hand, she would whisk Lemon off to a new town for a fresh beginning. Now, just as they are moving yet again, Lemon discovers that she is pregnant from a reckless encounter—with a guy Stella had been flirting with.
On the verge of revisiting her mother’s mistakes, Lemon struggles to cope with the idea of herself as a young unmarried mother, as well as the fact that she’s never met her own father. Determined to have at least one big adventure before she has the baby, Lemon sets off on a cross-country road trip, intending not only to meet her father, but to figure out who she wants to be.
Ok, I love the cover! Another pregnant teenager but I already have a good feeling about this book plus you know I love a road trip!

Anything But Ordinary by Lara Avery

Her best friend and boyfriend have just graduated from college. Her parents barely speak. And everything she once dreamed of doing—winning a gold medal, traveling the world, falling in love—seems beyond her reach.
But Bryce has changed too, in seemingly impossible ways. She knows things she shouldn’t. Things that happened while she was asleep. Things that haven’t even happened yet. During one luminous summer, as she comes to understand that her dreams have changed forever, Bryce learns to see life for what it truly is: extraordinary.
Another one I feel pretty meh about, I also accidently spoiled the ending for myself which also lessened my interest.

The Almost Truth by Eileen Cook
Teen con artist Sadie might be over her head. To escape her backwards small town, delusional mom, jailbird dad, and the tiny trailer where she was raised, she also must leave Brendan. Sadie wants a better life, and she has been working steadily toward it, one con at a time, until her mother wipes out her savings.
Brendan helps devise the ultimate con. But the more lies Sadie spins, the more she starts falling for her own hoax, and perhaps for the wrong boy. Sadie wanted to change her life, but she wasn't prepared to have it flipped upside down by her own deception. With her future at stake and her heart on the line, she suddenly has more than just money to lose.
I like the sound of a teen con artist but possibly not in a contemporary romance context.
Verdict: Remove
The Summer of No Regrets by Katherine Grace Bond
The summer Luke came into my life, I decided to keep him a secret. Even from my celebrity-obsessed best friend. Maybe he *was* a dead-ringer for notorious Hollywood bad boy Trent Yves. And it was possible that everything he told me was a lie. And yes, I was probably asking for trouble. But all I saw was Luke--sweet, funny, caring--someone who would let me be the real me.
But which was the real him?
Absolutely not. I saw the words Hollywood bad boy and knew this wasn't going to be for me.
Verdict: Remove
Hurt by Tabitha Suzuma

Until one weekend. A weekend he cannot seem to remember. All he knows is that he has come back a changed person. One who no longer knows how to have fun, no longer wants to spend time with his friends, no longer enjoys diving. Something terrible happened that weekend – something violent and bloody and twisted. He no longer knows who he is. He no longer trusts himself around people: he only wants to hurt, wound and destroy. Slowly, he begins to piece back the buried, fragmented memories, and finds himself staring at the reflection of a monster.
Tormented, Mathéo suddenly finds himself faced with the most devastating choice of his life. Keep his secret, and put those closest to him in terrible danger. Or confess, and lose Lola forever . . .
Suzuma is know for writing about taboo/shocking topics in YA, I'm just not sure I'm really interested in reading them.

Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy (Gallagher Girls #2) by Ally Carter
Cammie Morgan is back, and it's clear that her life hasn't calmed down since the events of I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You. At first, giddy anticipation is in the air. Gallagher Academy, Cammie's elite spy school, is hosting a visit from a covert training center for boys. Soon after the boys' arrival, though, everything goes dangerously awry when a series of security breaches are discovered at the academy. Worse yet, teenage agent-in-training Cammie is being blamed for the penetration. With the school's top-secret status at risk, the Gallagher Girls have to work quickly to save their beloved school.
I have read the first book in the Gallagher Girls series but it was back in 2013 and I think I've lost interest in continuing now. I did read and enjoy the Heist Society books though!
Verdict: Remove (also removing the rest of the series that was on my TBR shelf)
