Let's Babble About... Music

I love writing about books but this blog is called Books and Babble so i'm going to do some babbling today and talk about some music I love that's been released within the last month or so. Music has been my escape for so many years, I listen to pretty much anthing although I do draw the line at pure rap and metal music, I can't stand anything within those genres. I'm constantly scrolling through spotify for some new tunes so I thought I'd share some recent finds with you today...

James TW | Chapters
Release Date: 26th April 2019
I've listened to a few of James TW's singles that he's been releasing over the past year so I was excited to spot his debut album in the new music section. His voice is just gorgeous, he has such a rich tone and yet it's so soothing and he can hit some beautiful notes. The majority of the songs are very mellow and touch upon the emotions of first love as well as a couple of songs that relate to family issues.
Check this out if you like Ed Sheeran or Shawn Mendes.
My Favourite Tracks: Big Picture, Soldier, If I Didn't Tell You, Right Into Your Love.

Marina | Love + Fear
Release Date: 26th April 2019
Marina's sound is really fun and synthy but the songs on this album were pretty hit and miss with me. Some of them I completely loved but others just weren't something I'd listen to more then once or twice. It's her first album as just Marina but she maintains her 'Diamonds' sound suprisingly considering I thought we were in for a style change along with the name change.
Check this out if you like her previous albums and Charlie XCX.
My Favourite Tracks: Orange Trees, Enjoy Your Life, Too Afraid, Soft To Be Strong (this last one is gorgeous!).

unperfect | Yeah, Why Not
Release Date: 3rd May 2019
I'd never actually heard of this band and I can't say that I'm a huge fan of their style of music. R&B has never really been my thing but I could see one or two of their songs growing on me and maybe some of their future releases may be more my speed. They have an interesting and unique sound which will help to make them stand out from the crowd but I'm unsure if they'll ever break into radio mainstream. For now I'll probably stick with Little Mix for my girl band fix.
Check them out if you like TLC and 90's R&B.
My Favourite Tracks: So Jaded and Looking For A Hug are potential growers.

The Vamps | Missing You
Release Date: 19th April 2019
I've loved The Vamps for a few years now, they're a really strong band with some super catchy tunes but there are times when some of their releases don't all live up to the same standard. Their latest EP, Missing You, has some good songs but it's not my favourite of all their music. They're growing their sound well but I do miss their pure pop earlier stuff.
Check them out if you like a more mature boyband sound.
My Favourite Track: Waves is definitely my favourite out of the four tracks.

Shawn Mendes | If I Can't Have You
Release Date: 3rd May 2019
Shawn Mendes is really growing on me as an artist. When he first started releasing music I wasn't overly bothered but he just seems to be getting better and better each time. I'm on the verge of becoming a full blown fan if he keeps churning out bop after bop and this one is no exception. It's so upbeat and catchy, you can't help but sing a long.

JP Cooper & Astrid S | Sing It With Me
Release Date: 3rd May 2019
This has a really fun and summery vibe. I can imagine blasting this song on a road trip with friends. I've only heard a handful of songs by each of these artists but their voices work really well together and I can see this one getting a lot of airplay on the radio as summer approaches.

Lewis Capaldi | Hold Me While We Wait
Release Date: 3rd May 2019
This song is just so beautiful and emotional. I've already replayed it about a 100 times already. Lewis Capaldi just pulls it out of the bag every time, he has such an incredible voice that I could listen to all day and you just know he puts his whole heart into his music. He's also absolutely hilarious, follow him on twitter, I promise you won't be disappointed!

So that's are some of the music i've been listening to recently. Do you like any of these songs or artists? What music have you been listening to in the last month? I'm always looking for new recommendations so drop me a comment below!
