WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words that highlights three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you'll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished The Flip Side by James Bailey on Monday and it was a really sweet, lighthearted rom-com. I really liked the premise, flipping a coin to help make major life decisions coupled with travelling the world attempting to find a girl who's name you don't even know! Borders on the stalkerish side but it reminded me a lot of Just One Day by Gayle Forman which is one of my favourites. A lot of it's fairly unrealistic, I mean how can one guy end up with so much bad luck but it's all done for humour at the end of the day.

What are you currently reading?

I've started listening to The Project by Courtney Summers as my audiobook of choice at the moment. I'm really liking it so far as I was hoping I would cause I adored the audiobook for Sadie. It definitely has the same tone and also focuses on a fractured sisterly relationship. The narrators are both really solid. I'm enjoying the plot too, the examination of cults and the people caught up in them is interesting.

How To Be Brave by Daisy May Johnson is an ARC that I got a while back but it's fine cause it's not published until next month! This one's a middle grade contemporary about a girl at a boarding school who turns things on it's head. I'm only about 20% in right now so not a whole lot to go on but it's being nicely set up. It's got a fun middle grade tone and I love that there's a huge focus on footnotes cause I just love a footnote!

Lastly, I just started Strange the Dreamer by Laini Taylor yesterday and got about 40 pages in. The text is pretty small in my edition and coupled with the wordiness, I'm thinking this one might take me a while. I'm ok with it though as so many people have said how beautifully written this book is. The premise is also interesting, love a librarian main character and a mysterious forgotten city. Excited to see where this one goes.

What do you think you'll read next?

Right now I'm thinking I'm going to pick up The Wicker King by K. Ancrum next as I'm going to use it fit the mental health prompt for Whatever-You-Want-A-Thon plus it's a host favourite! I've been super intrigued by this one for a while as the synopsis is so vague but the physical look of the book (the pages get darker the further you read) has me itching to pick it up.

When August learns that his best friend, Jack, shows signs of degenerative hallucinatory disorder, he is determined to help Jack cope. Jack’s vivid and long-term visions take the form of an elaborate fantasy world layered over our own—a world ruled by the Wicker King. As Jack leads them on a quest to fulfill a dark prophecy in this alternate world, even August begins to question what is real or not.

August and Jack struggle to keep afloat as they teeter between fantasy and their own emotions. In the end, each must choose his own truth.

Have you read any of these? What were your thoughts? What are you currently reading and hoping to pick up next? Leave a comment or link your own WWW Wednesdays below for me to check out!
