Manchester Christmas Markets

 
Last Thursday me and some friends decided to have a wander around the Christmas Markets as it's my first time experiencing them so of course I took my camera along with me to snap a few pictures. There's nothing like a Christmas market to get you in the festive mood and everywhere looked wonderful. The stalls were crammed with Christmas themed gifts and trinkets and don't even get me started on the food stalls. The German section smelt amazing and it took a lot of will power to not just buy everything and forget about the calories.

I ultimately settled for a traditional german hotdog smothered in ketchup and mustard which was delicious if just a little too spicy for me. There was so much on offer though, you could get spanish paella (which my friend Brooke got and said was amazing), burgers, grilled cheese and then all the sweet treats as well. From every kind of alcoholic drink you can imagine to a classic hot chocolate with a splash of Bailey's.

I also got some mini dutch pancakes with nutella as another friend raved about them. I was slightly disappointed with my batch as they seemed slightly undercooked and a little too gooey for me but i still wolfed down half and all the nutella of course.

After we'd tired our feet out with all the walking we decided to stop off for something to drink. We attempted to find somewhere to sit in the Old Windmill House but unfortunately the place was heaving with no seating available so instead we headed to Brook's Mill which had a smaller bar and seating area. Brooke and Crystal settled on a glass of prosecco with a shot of parma violet syrup and even though I rarely drink alcohol, even I'll admit it had a nice sweet taste to it.

It was a great wander and I'm planning on coming back on Friday when some of my family are coming up to Manchester for a visit. I'll leave you with a picture of Zippy the giant santa and a picture of friends which I ultimately forced them in to!
