WWW Wednesday | 10/09/2025

WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking On a World of Words that highlights three questions:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you'll read next?

What did you recently finish reading?

I finished Feel the Bern by Andrew Shaffer on Sunday which I read in one day. This was such a fun cozy mystery, I loved the autumnal Vermont setting and whilst the crime was pretty ridiculous, it was also well written enough that it just kinda worked. I was disappointed to find out that the author still hasn't continued this series but his Obama/Biden books sound fun too.

What are you currently reading?

I'm really dragging my feet with I Have Some Questions for You by Rebecca Makai cause whilst I'm enjoying it, I'm also not really reaching for it either. I don't want to DNF cause I do like it but if I don't make much progress over the next few days I might have to put it aside for a bit.

I started The Change by Kirsten Miller on Monday so I could fulfil a tricky prompt for a reading challenge (read a book about a character going through menopause) and this was the only book I had that I knew fit the prompt. I'm around 16% in and really enjoying it so far, I'm very intrigued about where the story is going to go after meeting all the characters.

What do you think you'll read next?

I need to get some more of my physical library books read so I think I'll pick up Pod by Laline Paull next. I don't know much about it other then it's from the POV of a dolphin and I read The Bees a few years ago and I remember liking it.

Ea has always felt like an outsider. As a spinner dolphin who has recently come of age, she's now expected to join in the elaborate rituals that unite her pod. But Ea suffers from a type of deafness that prevents her from mastering the art of spinning. When catastrophe befalls her family and Ea knows she is partly to blame, she decides to make the ultimate sacrifice and leave the pod.

As Ea ventures into the vast, she discovers dangers everywhere, from lurking predators to strange objects floating in the water. Not to mention the ocean itself seems to be changing; creatures are mutating, demonic noises pierce the depths, whole species of fish disappear into the sky above. Just as she is coming to terms with her solitude, a chance encounter with a group of arrogant bottlenoses will irrevocably alter the course of her life.

Have you read any of these? What were your thoughts? What are you currently reading and hoping to pick up next? Leave a comment or link your own WWW Wednesdays below for me to check out!
